Good News From Hong Kong

Our favorite longtime international entertainment journalist Patrick Frater has landed at The Hollywood Reporter where he will cover Asia from Hong Kong as of May 1. Aside from driving the news, appearing on panels, etc. he will be work on content and driving traffic to THR's year old Asia Web site.

Patrick has worked at Screen International and at Variety. A British national, he graduated from the London School of Economics and speaks several languages, including Mandarin. You can find him in Cannes as part of the THR Show Daily team that puts out a daily paper during the Festival de Cannes where he will also moderate several industry panels taking place on the Croisette.

"Patrick is a gifted and versatile journalist with great reporting instincts, an impressive Rolodex and an unparalleled understanding of the different cultures that make up the global entertainment business," editor in chief Elizabeth Guider said. "His ability to uncover the news and explain the trends that are shaping the global biz, coupled with his online experience and savvy, will help solidify The Reporter as the most authoritative read in the global entertainment space."

We couldn't agree more, nor could we be happier for him and THR.
